Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley are two adjacent ski resorts that have recently been combined. Bigger is better, and Andy Wirth the CEO of Squaw Valley is busy with the final stages of this new giant gondola which will connect the two ski facilities. Soon skiers will have the opportunity to ski both facilities by purchasing a single lift ticket.

There will be more trails to ski on a single day and while there is considerable physical distance between the two resorts; each resort has its parking facilities, but the new gondola will give skiers an easy, picturesque way to connect to both of these iconic ski areas. Andy Wirth has a hands-on, can do attitude and would rather see progress made without a host of attornies battling every step of the way. Wirth formed a friendly relationship with a landowner whose land between the two resorts was needed for construction of the planned gondola.

Wirth went on to explain his commitment to conservation by telling a newspaper reporter about his past work as a wilderness ranger (click here to read more: Special Warfare Warrior | Andy Wirth’s Fundraiser ). He went on to explain that his grandfather was influential in writing the Wilderness Act of 1963 preserving natural lands from development.

Andy Wirth has raised some eyebrows with his expansion plans, and some residents are worried that the flavor of Squaw Valley as a year-round retirement haven will be adversely affected.

Andy Wirth has always been on the forefront of development in Squaw Valley and has walked the tightrope between the desires of the resort and its many employees and those living in this spectacular environment. Wirth is the right man to be in control of this development.
