Robert Ivy was the recipient of the Crain Award in 2009 and in 1998 he was given an award for Management Excellence by McGraw-Hill. Alpha Rho Chi named him the Master Architect in 2010 under a unanimous vote. This was due to how he effectively communicated a designs value. He is included in the caliber of iconic architects such as Dr. Nathan Clifford Ricker, Cass Gilbert, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Eliel Saarinen, I.M. Pei, Richard Buckminster Fuller, and John Wellborn Root. Robert Ivy is one of only seven honored in the 100 year history of the fraternity and the 21st Centuries only selected architect.

In 2001 Robert Ivy’s biography was published and it was titled Fay Jones: Architect. The book is a showcase of Frank Lloyd Wright’s apprentice architect and is now in its third edition.
