Christopher Cowdray and luxury hotel management are virtually synonymous. Chris has been in the hotel business for over 30 years and in 2007 became the Chief Executive Officer for The Dorchester Collection of hotels. He brings to the position a unique vision, and his experience in managing hotels on four different continents.
The Dorchester Collection currently consists of nine luxury hotels in premier cities like London and Paris. What began as five individual hotels is now a set of branded hotels with a reputation in the travel industry for a luxury experience for their guests and top-of-the-line services.
Several additions to The Dorchester Collection have been made since Chris took over in 2007. The first was the Hotel Bel-Air, which was added in 2008. It was then closed down for a two year, complete renovation. Next was the addition of Coworth Park near Ascot. The Georgian style house was converted to a hotel by adding rooms and a spa to the facility. 45 Park Lane was added in November 2011. Located near The Dorchester, this property has a more contemporary feel, and complements the Dorchester nicely. Most recently added was Le Richemond which will be renovated to bring it up to the standards of the rest of the collection.
Christopher Cowdray and The Dorchester Collection work hard to create a unique customer experience at each of their hotels. Rather than try to make a corporate brand that all hotels conform to, each hotel has its own unique style and character. The hotels all take customer feedback very seriously, and are constantly evaluating themselves to see if they are meeting guest expectations, and if not, why not? Chris also values highly the satisfaction of his employees. Happy employees will provide better service, which leads to happy guests.
Since taking over as CEO of The Dorchester Collection, Christopher Cowdray has set forth an ambitious vision. Placing customer service and luxury experiences at the top of his list of priorities, he has truly created a collection of unique hotels with individual personalities that keep guests coming in the doors.
