At present, Dr. Rod Rohrich is a professor as well as the Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the highly esteemed University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. In this capacity, Dr Rod Rohrich has been assisted by others who helped a finance a distinguished professorship in his name name that aims to help provide additional means of research in wound healing and plastic surgery. The doctor has also served in the past to help create a body of work in the field by serving as supervisor and Editor in Chief of the academic journal known as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Rohrich grew up in rural North Dakota where he was raised by parents who owned a ranch there. An excellent student, he took his academic talents to North Dakota State University and then to the University of North Dakota where he was able to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees in preparation for a career in medicine. His later academic credentials include a degree in medicine from Baylor University, a stint at Oxford University in the United Kingdom and specialized training in the field of microsurgery at Harvard. During this time, he worked to hone his surgical skills and master the difficult field of plastic surgery.
Since that time, Dr. Rod Rohrich has authored hundreds of articles on aspects of plastic surgery. He has worked to develop new and important techniques that can help his patients look better and feel younger. He has also worked with colleagues to develop important new methods to help advance the field of plastic surgery even further.
