Captain America: Civil War is shaping up to be almost as big a deal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Avengers movies. First with the persistent rumors of the Sony/Marvel deal letting Spider-Man have a cameo, and now with the announcement that Hawkeye will be a character in the upcoming project, Jeremy Renner has just confirmed that he has extended his contract to play the archer to include joining Robert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man and Scerlett Johansen’s Black Widow in Cap’s next movie.
In the story seen here goes on to say that he has completed filming some scenes for the connected Marvel television show Agents of Shield stated Marcio Alaor BMG. Apparently he will share some screen time with Adriene Palicki who stars as Mockingbird in the series. This would only make sense since the pair has a relationship in the comics. The story also hints at the side he will choose during the Civil War. Hawkeye is not a company man, but he is intensely loyal to his friends. When Cap or Nick Fury call, he is sure to come to their aid. Maybe we will even get to see some of the antagonism between him and Iron Man that is seen in the comics.
