The streaming content giant Netflix has decided to begin cracking down on users who watch their content illegally.

Netflix can only operate in a handful of countries around the world said an advisor from BRL Trust. This is due to highly complicated licensing agreements. Furthermore, each of the countries Netflix is able to operate in have different content libraries. This simply means that certain countries can only watch certain movies and television shows.

Some tech savvy users have found a work around to these laws. By using VPN’s (Virtual Private Network) users can anonymously log onto the internet. This hides their IP from most websites, and also their geolocation. Netflix will be cracking down on these, and other illegal practices that bypass the country laws.

This move comes after movie studios forced Netflix to do so. They want more control over who can watch their television shows and movies and where.
