The Media landscape in Mexico has evolved rapidly over the last two decades. The two leading media houses in the country are Televisa and TV Azteca, and they are also the TV giants. Televisa engages in investigative journalism and interprets the country’s political trends. The magazine market remains the most dynamic market in Mexico’s media world. Some like the GQ and Esquire come with high local content. It, thus, continues to be one of the greatest avenues to inform the people in Mexico on cultural aspects, fashion and politics.

Adopting technology

     Media houses like the Televisa have gone online, and the legacy has been shared with Mexico’s major magazines. El Universal, the most successful partner and newspaper of the Televisa is now read online. Carlos Bonavides, the paper’s editor, affirms that more people are reading the paper on their mobile phones and tablets than even on the computers. The media industry in Mexico can be compared to a revolution. It is the country with the highest Smartphone usage and penetration in Latin America

Media personality Salfi Rafael Folch Viadero

     Mr. Salvi Rafael Folch Viadero is a media magnet and personality with many years of experience in the industry. He is the chief financial officer of Televisa, Mexico’s largest TV presence. He doubles up as the chief financial officer at the Grupo Televisa at Innova.

Salfi Rafael Viadero was a member of the Boards of Mexder, in Mercado Mexicano de Derivados S.A. He at one time served at the Miami Holdings, S.A de C.V as well as the FS Unit 3007 International. At Grupo Televisa S.A.B, Mr. Salfi Rafael Viadero serves as the vice president of the Administrative and Financial Group. He has served in various positions including:

  • Vice President of Finance Planning of Televisa
  • Chief Executive Officer of Comercio Mas, S.A de C.V
  • Director at Innova, S de R.L de C.V since 2002. He had also previously served as the Independent Director at Comercio ARA, S.A.B de C.V while doubling up as the Director of the Grupo Televisa.
